City Walks - Dunedin

Interested in street art? Architecture? Renewal? What about the gold rush years, the warehouse precinct, and the old churches? Wish you could find craft beer, second-hand bookstores, and outstanding service? You can...

City Walks guide Athol Parks leads three walks showcasing Dunedin's history, architecture and renewal. The Vogel Street Walk and the Dunedin Laneways Walk both focus on the redevelopment of Dunedin's warehouse precinct. As its name suggests, the Laneways Walk places more emphasis on street art and laneways. Most days it finishes at Steamer Basin Brewery and Taproom, a boutique brewery tucked away down up-and-coming No Name Alley.

The Old Town Walk (2hrs) provides a more comprehensive introduction to Dunedin. Key sites and buildings featured include The Octagon, St. Paul's Cathedral, The Exchange and Dunedin Railway Station. This walk departs at 10.30am, daily except Sundays, from the Dunedin I-Site Visitor Centre.
